Four champions were crowned over the weekend.

Surprisingly, there was very little drama in any of the Section 1 finals, but a number of players from all teams involved stood up and stood out. Before we jump into regionals, we’re spotlighting four individuals who played a starring role in a title win.

This will be the final poll of the season and it’s going to remain open until 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Iona Prep’s K.J. Delane, Somers’ Miguel Iglesias, Tappan Zee’s Robert McKiernan, North Rockland’s Kevin Devine, Iona Prep’s Jack Dougherty, Fordham Prep’s Jack Freel and Byram Hill’s Michael Oronzio are the previous winners.

Class A: Scarsdale caps season-long comeback with win over Mamaroneck

Class B: Rye goes back-to-back against Yorktown, moves the bar higher

Class C: Pelham solves Pearl River, runs away with the Section 1 title

Class D: Class C: Briarcliff was ready for the moment and took down Bronxville 

Colby Baldwin, Scarsdale

The junior midfielder is the reason behind the repeat. He came up with 18 faceoff wins during a 12-7 victory over Mamaroneck in the Section 1 Class A championship. Baldwin also had two goals and one assist.

The senior midfielder and faceoff specialist ended the notion of a Husker comeback, winning 20 of 23 faceoffs during a 14-6 win over Yorktown in the Section 1 Class B championship.

The junior attackman drove the getaway car. He delivered four goals and two assists for the Pelicans, who pulled away from Pearl River in the second quarter, posting a 14-6 win in the Section 1 Class C championship game.

The senior attackman was a next level catalyst for the Bears, who three-peated, collecting six goals and two assists in a redemptive 14-5 win over Bronxville in the Section 1 Class D title game.
