“Une musique intérieure (Conduct, Language, Voice, Inner Ears)” at Tabakalera, Donostia / San Sebastián

The Exhibition “Une musique intérieure” questions our conduct, our language, and our voice as one particular would the balance of our interior ear as instruments that stabilise our personal connection with the outdoors entire world. The exhibition “Une musique intérieure” (Inner Music) is the new framework for the score Solo &#8211 Nature Study Notes &#8211 1969-2019 [Athens Version] created and done in collaboration with Ga Sagri, Delia Gonzalez and Serapis Maritime in early summer months 2021. This rating was prepared in Greece by employing freely readily available improvisation rites (prose instructions) working out the open useful resource theory of the 1960s English collective, The Scratch Orchestra. The define of the exhibition’s ground plan at the Sizzling Wheels gallery in Athens, where this get the job done was very first exhibited, is superimposed on to the Tabakalera space. Also, the apparel developed by Serapis Maritime for the performance is printed with visuals from the Greek gallery and verbal guidance of the rites. Solo &#8211 Nature Review Notes &#8211 1969-2019 [Athens Version] 2021 seeks to interrogate the romance in between the specific and the collective. The rating aims to acquire the activation of diverse rites by way of the clothing worn by one individual (a solo performer) who animates the directions, thereby shifting the development of the social system onto the somatic development of the person. On the other hand, the audience (a collective) is then positioned in free circulation all around this activation so that the team is much more impacted in its lively listening or passive conduct. The exhibition at Tabakalera calls  on the scores of composers who were being pioneers in their attention to contexts, this kind of as Alvin Lucier (Chambers, 1968), Pauline Oliveros (Deep Listening, 1989), and Milan Adamčiak (Ground scores, 1967). As Erik Satie currently emphasised in his Musiques d&#8217ameublement (Carrelage phonique, 1917), interiority is colonised by social rules. It is the political stage of determinism and the instrumental character—in the double feeling of musical instrument and instrument of manipulation— that artists, this kind of as regional artist Amable Arias or a new generation of artists this sort of as Eva Barto, Mattin, Matthieu Saladin, and Cally Spooner, specify in this exhibition which is presented to the community as a chamber tunes live performance.
