Red Velvet’s “Feel My Rhythm” Takes No. 1; Soompi’s K-Pop Music Chart 2022, April Week 1
For the second week in a row, a new song has once again debuted at No. 1!
Red Velvet’s new song “Feel My Rhythm” just edged out the previous week’s champion (G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY” to become the new No. 1 song. “Feel My Rhythm” also picked up its first music show win on “Music Bank.” Congratulations to Red Velvet!
“Feel My Rhythm” is the title song from Red Velvet’s mini album “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm.” It is a pop dance song that samples Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Air on the G String.” The lyrics vividly tell a tale of freely going on a fun journey, traveling across time and space while following the music.
As mentioned above, last week’s No. 1 song (G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY” dropped one spot to No. 2 this week.
There are two more songs that newly entered the top 10 this week.
Moving up 10 spots to score their first top three hit on our chart is Stray Kids’ “MANIAC,” the title song from their mini album “ODDINARY.” The hip hop song expresses Stray Kids’ desire to not live within the ordinary boundaries. Members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, also known as 3RACHA, wrote the lyrics and also co-composed the song.
Debuting at No. 7 is Highlight’s “DAYDREAM,” which is the title song from Highlight’s first full album of the same name. It is a medium tempo dance track with emotional vocals and retro synth sounds. The song is about not wanting to wake up from a daydream to face reality of life without the one they love.
