Bob Mackie has one thing to say about Kim Kardashian’s Marilyn Monroe moment.

The designer of the legendary Joyful Birthday Mr President dress has a incredibly solid feeling about the truth star sporting the glimpse at this year’s Achieved Gala.

Speaking to Leisure Weekly, Mackie mentioned, “I considered it was a massive miscalculation,” introducing, “[Marilyn] was a goddess. A mad goddess, but a goddess. She was just fabulous. No one images like that. And it was accomplished for her. It was designed for her. No person else really should be witnessed in that costume.”

Mackie, a legendary costume designer sketched the design of the sheer dress in 1962 for Jean Louis who then brought it to lifetime for Monroe to have on for John F. Kennedy’s 45th birthday.

The costume has due to the fact been on screen at the Ripley’s Think It or Not Museum in Orlando in which it holds the title of “the most pricey dress in the earth”.

The museum paid an eye-watering cost of US$4.8m (NZ$7.54m) for the garment in 2016 and Edward Meyer, vice-president of Show & Archives for the museum reported, “This is the most renowned product of clothing in twentieth-century culture.”

Continuing on to say “It has the importance of Marilyn, of JFK, and of American politics.”

Kardashian stirred quite a few various reactions when she wore the historic costume on the Achieved Gala pink carpet, but a single typical criticism arrived just after she exposed the powerful crash diet program she went on to suit into the gown.

“To brazenly acknowledge to starving by yourself for the sake of the Met Gala, when you know very properly that millions of youthful adult males and women of all ages are wanting up to you and listening to your just about every phrase. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting.”

Kardashian has not publicly responded to the criticisms but posted a cryptic story on her Instagram in the times pursuing the event the place she explained “Be teachable. Be open. You happen to be not always right.”
